About Just Peachy Gardening

Meet Sydney: Coastal Master Naturalist & Founder

Hi, I'm Sydney, and I'm the hands, heart, and horticultural expert behind Just Peachy Gardening.

The Peach State Roots

My connection to the soil started in Georgia—the Peach State! I grew up engrained with a fierce passion for nature, digging in the red Georgia clay and going for long walks. This passion led me to an early adulthood revelation: the joy of growing my own food. My love for plants grew even more a few short years later when I discovered the incredible impact of native plants and the magic of attracting pollinators right into my backyard. Seeing the immediate, vibrant life a native garden brings solidified my belief that gardening can be both beautiful and ecologically vital.

Coastal Expertise in Charleston

After moving to the Charleston, South Carolina area, I fell in love with the unique lifestyle and coastal beaches. I committed to mastering this environment by studying to become a Coastal Master Naturalist in the fall/winter of 2024. This specialized knowledge allows me to expertly guide clients through the nuances of sandy soil, salt tolerance, and selecting the absolute best native plants to ensure your garden doesn't just survive, but flourishes.

I am a passionate advocate for native species, edible landscapes, and fruits that thrive right here in the Lowcountry.

Our Philosophy: Earth First

Just Peachy Gardening is built on three core pillars:

  1. Eco-conscious Approach: We never rely on harsh chemicals. Our methods focus on building healthy soil, utilizing native resilience, and providing targeted care to minimize impact on the local environment.

  2. Abundance & Function: We design spaces that are beautiful and useful—from pollinator paradises to backyard pantries overflowing with fresh food and functional herbs.

  3. Local Mastery: Our expertise is rooted in Coastal South Carolina. We know what works here, period.
